Overview
Anthropic's newest Opus flagship and the first of the Claude 5.5 family, launched 2026-09-22. Anthropic says it performs at the level of Claude Fable 5.1 on most work and costs 40% less to run than Opus 5. $4/$20 per 1M tokens with cache reads at $0.20 (5% of input, not the usual 10%); Batch API halves it to $2/$10. 1M-token context, 128K max output.
