Tencent Hy-MT2 1.8B — the compact member of Tencent's Hy-MT2 "fast-thinking" translation family, translating among 33 languages and five Chinese dialect and minority-language pairs with the same structured, contextual and glossary-based workflows as its larger siblings. Tencent open-sourced the weights on 2026-05-21, alongside a 1.25-bit quantisation that fits the model into about 440 MB for on-device use. Tencent sells it per token on its Tencent Cloud TokenHub rate card and serves it itself as an FP8 endpoint. Context window 8,192 tokens with a 4,096-token maximum output, per Tencent's own model list.
